Guess what?

I may have said this before... but The Pirate Balthasar is full of famous stuff. I like art and movies so I often put the stuff I like inside the stuff I like. Lots of stuff, in short.

Here how it goes. Even for the "too darn hot" illustrations I took inspiration from 3 famous paintings and one sculpture. Would you like to try and guess?
It could be a fun game!

Whoever guess them right can commission me anything XDDD even a naked picture of Fickle!

In the meantime, I am slowly proceeding to complete this next release. I got enlightened about one thing, along the way, which will make Hell a bit more pitiful for all of us... but in a most effective way.
Sometimes, for certain types of emotions... you really have to go all out and shout.

I don't really know about the rest of them, I'll have to look it up, but I'm pretty sure the Cat and Feetsie one was inspired by Klimt's Kiss. And if it wasn't, well it sure does remind me of it!

You got it! Cat and Feetsie is Klimt! *_*

Wow! I really got it? I feel special haha.
I haven't looked the rest up yet, but I think I will, just for fun.
Happy day-before-your-birthday!

Kes and Wes kind of remind me of The Kiss sculpture by Auguste Rodin.

Ok so I'm back, and I can't believe I didn't see this before, but Castalia and our dearest captain are -maybeee- a Rodin sculpture? The Kiss? I'm still lost with the other two..

Rodin's kiss was on this week's release. Wes and kes on the stairs... it's Rodin! I am glad you like that too... I spent two hours in front of that sculpture in 1998! It's beautiful.

Kane and Castalia are inspired by a Bernini statue.
Klimt was guessed.
Lio and Foxy might be hard to guess... think of a mythological creature.
Kes and Wes are inspired by a French painter.

I feel like I'm the only one furiously browsing my art book collection here hehe. Ok so I guessed Klimt right, score one for me (I'm the only anonymous commenting thus far, by the way, just so you don't get confused. Maybe I should start signing..?). Then I botched it with Rodin's kiss, well, no biggie. And then all I can think of is Kes reminds me of Picoulet's turban bleu but she's fairly recent, so that's a no-no, and Lio and Foxy vaguely resemble something out of Poussin but considering your clue.. I feel so lost! Should I be thinking Mythological or fantastical creature for those two? This is hard!

Nienn.

maybe signing in might help.

So it's a famous statue for Kane and Castalia... about a famous kidnapping.

Lio and foxy... think about a mythological creature who fed on men.

Kes and Wes... the painter was a fairly short guy.

Yes when you said Bernini I knew it was the rape of proserpina, so since it took you naming the artis for me to realize I'm counting it as a fail on my part heh. For Lio I'd thought Munch's vampire initially, but then I dismissed it for some reason. Now, Kes and Wes, Toulouse Lautrec maybe?

I can't sign in, I don't have accounts anywere, not even social network sites. I'm an internet rebel hehe.

oh so you don't have a google account either. That's what I use mostly.
So... mmh... it's more of an ancient Greek's myth for Lio and Foxy but you got Kane and Castalia right! *_*

and the short painter... that's the one hahahaha Lautrec.

Lio and Foxy kind of remind me of 'The Fisherman and the Siren' painting ^^
