Pea's makeover

I wanted to create a little game about this... then I got distracted by my parents and actually posted the answer to my question on Deviant Art.

Let's see how many of you will try to play the game anyway without going to peek over there.

At the end of chapter 10 we'll meet two girls, Yester and Nairi who'll do 3 things: make coffee, say grace before meals and give Pea a make over.

What's their Nationality?

The coffee part is not a clue but an influence... oh, this is a tic tac post by the way XDDD

Alright... I know I have disappeared and am not answering to any of your messages.

Truth is... my parents are coming to visit and for the next 50 days it will be super hard to draw after I come back from work.

My drawing hours will be cut by a lot! So I am trying to get very much ahead of myself to avoid the risk of not updating at all, or a delayed update.

Unfortunately Illustrations, Freebies and the One Year Celebration suffers from it but I will make it up to you as soon as they go back home in March.

We finally get to see makeover day LOL. There will be two special moments! :D

Power up!!! è_é

Today I was trying to re-calculate the pages and upgrade the calendar, since a lot of stuff got shifted around.

It was necessary to introduce and solve some situations before we got to town... so by shifting some things, here and there, all the summaries are now a full chapter behind. Truth is some of the stuff that was supposed to happen after, it already happened and so some other summaries will eventually disappear and turn into something else.

The other thing I found out, by calculating the number of pages I had left for the chapter, was that chapter 10B will be 16 pages, not 12, and chapter 10 C will be 16 pages instead of 15. So we'll have, again, a full chapter of 45 pages (while originally chapter 10 was only a 39 pages chapter).

What was chapter 10 is now chapter 11! This might probably make The Pirate Balthasar 21 chapters long, instead of 20... the Epilogue will be the first chapter of volume 6 - which means Pifo will get a cover too - and the volume with all the extras and the next generation might happen for real.

Unless I decide that something more should happen and then Balthasar itself gets longer. We'll see. So far there's a lot of new stuff that I am writing in... sometimes simply because I miss the aunties and want to see them again. XDDD

The main storyline will not change at all... I simply ask myself questions and try to answer them to have a better flowing character arc.

Long time no post a pencil tic tac... this is not for the coming up issue, but for the one after...

Tic tac again.

I don't have much to show you these days, after all the things I managed to do in December... work has caught up and swallowed me up alive.

I am six pages into chapter 10 and there is a special also, coming your way. But here's what we'll see at the beginning of chapter ten... since it's about time for our stinky pirates to take a bath.

The nature of our tic tacs might have changed... at least until I get a new camera!

Mine has a had a little accident with food and leakage... to cut the story short it's broken.

So... no more tic tacs? For a while I could not post anything then I thought: "I could change the way I post preview" - finger to my chin... "because right now I have everything ready until page 50 of chapter 9".

That means... until page 45 - end of the chapter - plus 5 pages into the special... that will consist of 6 pages (page 6 I am cleaning up) and I am already drawing chapter 10.

I already posted the cover for chapter 10... I think I am doing good. Let's hope to keep it up after my parents arrive here in Singapore! hahahahaha.

And those up there are some of the scenes you'll get to seen pretty soon.

A midsummer night dream!

I am 8 pages into the release... 2 already rendered.

These first pages will open the third volume and so we shall so all our main characters as the midsummer night dream begins...

A couple of pages each... as an intro... development in the second release and closure in the third part! :D

It should be quite interesting...

And remember... it will be corn season! è_é Corn rocks!

I've reached page 31!!! Which means I am 8 pages into the release... actually 10 (but not rendered yet)... so no matter how crazy this week will get... something is going up! XDDD

Tic tac... wow!

I was checking some cartoons today and I usually watch stuff while I drew and little that I knew I kinda almost draw the next two installments... and I am cleaning one page per day at least and I draw as I go.

So... mhh... I drew a little ahead of myself and this will probably save my life since I am not going to have saturdays off until the beginning of december. I wonder if I can switch my tuesdays with my saturdays but honestly drawing in my office or doing it at home makes no difference hahahaha. The light table is in the office anyways.

Tomorrow I'll try and clean up as much as I can and see how much ahead of myself I can actually manage to go!

It would be great if I could finally get to go that One chapter ahead like I've always wanted to...

Tic tac and fan art.

Hi guys...

In case you haven't noticed there is a group on Deviant Art for the Pirate Balthasar where I will slowly upload all the comic and the artwork related to the comic.

Some fan arts though are not made by members of DA and are sent to me via Facebook and so I have to upload them here.

It's not the case of this Deviation though, called Midnight Snack and representing Callista with a cute hat... snacking on honey!

Now regarding our tic tac the release is undergoing proof and might come out one day earlier which is on the 17th! That is to say... tomorrow.

There are mainly two reasons:

1) I don't know how tired I would be monday night - it's the first day of school and I teach two classes on that day.

2) The content is slightly different from what stated in the calendar because what is stated on the calendar has actually turned into a special: Callista's song Reprise.

I wanted that to be more interactive but I'm afraid it cannot be done... therefore it will be made as a regular special but I don't want it to bump down the other releases and so I want to take advantage of the extra two days (tomorrow and what's left of monday) to sketch the special.

Keep the fingers crossed for me.

Now... work in progress wise... how am I doing? Let me tell you that you will see clean up in photographs today. I am using white paper - ran out of the yellow stuff (how sad). The next issue might be slightly longer than expected, since I had to cut the previous one short! ^^"

Some people might be tired of bargains and deals... like you have to haggle all the time.

Who's right and who's wrong? Depends on the counterpart.


For sure there are those who desire and wish to be desired in return. Pursuing is fine, I will pursue you till the end of time if you want me to... show me you want me to.

On the other hand there's the problem that, by winning a kiss in a gamble, the other one feels obliged to comply. Pity love or love that comes out of obligation is very mortifying.
So one can ask or demand but if the other one does not want you... it's useless to force them, right?

Wilson Kane said so: my boys know how to take a "no".

Somehow, I just want you to know, pink is a contagious color.

In short the doctor was not hallucinating, the poor man, life did turn pink.

tic tic tac!

Aaaah, I am almost done with rendering.

Part 1 is done, I leave Castalia and Kane behind and go see what the rest of the group is doing... which means: splash of colors!

I have to say that, from this moment on, Wilson Kane will crack me up like there's no tomorrow.

I like how Castalia grows fonder and fonder of him while the poor guy keeps crashing on her unexpectedly.

How much longer can he possibly withstand all these quirks penting up... God knows!

He might blow up, one day.

For being someone who likes to be in control of his own destiny, falling for a person that is most impossible to control must be really tough... she is ignorant... she is a tomboy... she is not completely aware of flowers and bees... doesnt' get things right away and, at times, turns into a ferret and bites.

When she should be mad at him she does not get mad. She does not ask questions either.

Then she says or does something that shows her wisdom, beyond her years and beyond any books he has read... she is street smart, of course. Plus she is a Botticelli with feet!

Oh, the man is going to go nuts.

In the end I found a nice blue/green for the flashback.
