This is Me!
Some people want to know what I look like… I kinda look like this dorky girl (although I am actually 40 years old)
Life is too complicated to worry about clothing so….
I buy clothes in bulk - same model, different colors.
Like this I don’t have to worry about what I want to wear… just what color do I feel like wearing on that day.

By the way I was interviewed here on The Pirate Balthasar... I think I'm a bit grumpy this week and it shows a bit in the interview hahaha.

Last switcharoo?
I realized suddenly that I had not done a switcharoo between Martin and Pea.
Now this one is complicated because I cannot make Pea a captain… so I’ve decided to make her super tall and him super short.
The one with Peo and Martina was easier… although I do think that Peo retains the qualities of major hunk, ehm captain steeves… but how on Earth did Martina end up with short hair?

Kucingpura
This is a demo I did in my Advanced Comic and Illustration class... to guide my students step by step in the process of traditional inking, panelling and coloring with traditional medium their work. I provided them with the script as well... which was inspired by the fact that Singapore will turn 50 in one year.
How Singapore got its name.
In the XIV century prince Sang Nila Utama landed on the island of Temasek by chance and upon sighting something he thought to be a Lion he decided to name the island Singa (lion) pura (city). Singapura, the lion city.
However recent studies have proven that no lions ever lived in Singapore and although there has been talks about the possibility the feline could have been a Malay Tiger, still someone like Sang Nila Utama and his men would have seen one before.
Recent speculation state that he might have actually seen a Golden Cat (a mased palm civet)…
My theory about the whole story is that he probably saw a cat (and Singapure is also know for being quite the feisty breed)… and that upon returning to his palace what he provided to his courtesans was an epic “fishing story”.
No offense intended here, I think Singaporean cats are a very good representative of the spirit of this nation. <3

Illustrator sketches
Hehehe so I was conducting an illustrator workshop for my students and I was teaching them how to make fur bikinis and such... and so Gemma turned into a prehistoric woman.

Kukup - Malesia
These are little sketches I did while I was staying in this little village in Malaysia called Kukup.
Singaporeans love to do that so I got to experience the classic singaporean vacation too.
It's fun place to visit and I had little time to draw but at least I managed to sketch these.

Euryalo and Medusa
Remember when I told you you could come up with characters for the next story of the Pirate Balthasar?
Okay so Kaguriakitsune - who previously had suggested an idea that brought to the creation of Nicoli and Long Overdue - has now proposed Circe's taylor and seamstress.
I think we ended up agreeing on a brother and sister duo of gigantic artistic proportions - they would Pifo's best friend if they ever met. Personality wise I have a feeling Euryalo is not the kind that talks much but executes well. I also have a feeling he is the kind of guy who pretends not to look but every now and then flips the fringe up and peeks at people.
As for Medusa she looks very dainty and unaffected by her surroundings. Much lost in her own thought, probably talks to herself a lot too
Coming soon: here.
Previously proposed: Hyttia and other characters.

Castalia fan art
One of my graduating students decided to leave me with a present. Funny thing on graduation night I received lots of little presents.... hahaha how does that work? You are the one graduating but I am the one receiving presents? hahahah
I've got to admit that DA11, class of 2014, has always made a point to show their gratitude, they were an amazing bunch and I am going to miss the dearly.
So thanks Sheryl, all the best for your future and your future job (which has already started and I hope it brings you a lot of joy) and I hope you will find more time to draw me more of these - ooooh, I am so selfish hahaha.
